Please note our preferred payment method is Paypal.

Even if you do not have a paypal account you can still pay for the services we provide by using Paypal. We also accept Cheques and Bank Transfers, details are on the checkout process. For Cheques we will not start the work until the payment has cleared. If you live local in Plymouth we can also take cash payments. The price includes return of your media. Obviously if you are local in Plymouth, Devon, you can drop off and pick up at a time to be arranged. Please note, the slides, 8mm reels and tapes can deteriorate over time. While every care is taken, we can’t guarantee that there will be no damage done. For instance if a VHS tape has been sat in a damp attic then it may not rewind/fast forward.  When we receive the tape we do a rewind and fast-forward in the transfer machine to get the tension correct, before we start the conversion. If it does not rewind and sticks we will eject the media and return the VHS back to you. We will obviously tell you this. If you do not want the tape we will simply destroy the media. 8mm film should have a leader. We often find in about 1 in 5 films that this is not the case. The leader is normally coloured white. Please check to see if yours have. If it hasn’t it is no big deal. What it means is that the first 16 inches of the film will be lost. This is because we need the first part of the film to connect to the take up reel to start the process. To try and stop any breakages we clean the film first, this does two things, removes dust and particles and also slightly softens the film. Hopefully preventing any breakages. The machine we use is also a lot slower than a normal projector, so is more gentle on the media, again hopefully preventing any damage. Please check other providers of this service. Some use a projector on normal speed, with a film gate and gear wheels , to project on to a 45 degree mirror, or even a wall, before capturing it on a Camcorder. This is a faster way, but the quality is poor.

Slides

This is what started the business. My dad had draws and draws of them. They were everywhere, In cupboards, wardrobes and draws. I took it upon myself to save them and convert to digital. It started to be a labour of love. Seeing all the old photos. The normal method is to save the digitised photos (in JPG Format) to a computer folder, then burn to a DVD. Please Note Slides do deteriorate over time. We can only reproduce what is on the Slide, scratches and all.

Photos

At the moment we can only convert, as part of the normal process, 4x6 inch and 5x8 inch photos. If you have bigger, we can still convert them but please get in touch. Again the same transfer method, Photo Paper converted to digital photos, JPG. Again transferred to  a computer folder Then burn to a DVD. Please remember, as with the slides, we do not retouch the photos, just convert them. Please Note Photos get damaged over time. We can only reproduce what is on the Photo, creases, blemishes and all.

8mm and Super 8mm Film

What we do here is capture the film, frame by Frame, as it goes through a specialised projector on to a digital card. We then load the digitised film on to a computer and then go into the production, titles and sound, if required.  If music is required we can add our own choice for free, or your own music. for a small fee. Please let me know and I will add the MP3 file that you send. If you send more than 1 reel we find that you can normally get most of the films sent on to 1 DVD. The 3 and 5 inch reels are the same cost, the 7 inch reels and sound films are a slightly higher price due to time it takes. For example. A 5 inch reel, frame by frame can take up to 1 ½ hours to complete. The sound film takes considerably more time. The sound has to be ‘lifted’ from the film first. Then the film scanned frame by frame, before the two are ‘joined’ together in editing software. Please Note 8mm films deteriorate over time. We can only reproduce what is on the Film scratches and all. If they are really bad we will inform you.

VHS ( and VHS-C ) to DVD

Have you also got lots of VHS tapes scattered around. Again either home made films or that classic film you have always loved. We also offer a VHS and VHS-C to DVD conversion service. Again please note the output on to DVD will only be as good as the original VHS that we receive. VHS is again on a medium that will deteriorate over time. Please before you send a VHS tape make sure that you play it in your VHS player first. If it has not been used for a long time the tape may Jam in the mechanism. We can’t be held responsible for attempting to convert the tape if it does Jam due to the Magnetic Tapes age and malfunctioning of the reels.
